Call of Duty Warzone will officially hold a World Series this year, and it’s an open tournament, so even more casual players can sign up to compete. There’s expected to be $600K in total prize money.

Here’s the official announcement from Call of Duty’s feed, which includes a link to the new website for the series:

Call of Duty recently announced a new map for Vanguard called “Desolation”, but Warzone arguably has more affection from the fans. And even though the Operation Monarch event was divisive back in May, it seemed to boost popularity among players outside the traditional franchise.

Now, players can participate in a standardized competition that will pit the biggest names against everyday fans. A full competition structure has been revealed, with plenty of details to break down.

Warzone World Series rules and details

A full trio interested in participating can sign up for the series on GameBattles. You will also need to sign up for an Activision account if you don’t have one. Then, the team must enter the WSOW BR Trios playlist on Warzone Pacific, and the Top 40 will move on to region qualifiers. Registration will end on August 15th.

PlayStation, Xbox, and Battle.net are accepted platforms, and streamers can use Twitch, YouTube, or Facebook. You’ll get 1 point per elimination, with some multipliers for placement. Final score is aggregated based on the 10 best games of each individual in a trio.

The finals are scheduled for September 6th and 7th, including the Top 20 trios and 20 invited trios. It’ll feature five maps and #SoloYolo. After the WSOW North America Final, finalists will enter a single-map Solos competition, awarding the winner with $100,000.
