From Space gets September 2022 release date

From Space, has released a new trailer that finally confirms the game is scheduled to launch on September 29th, 2022. The game will be available on Steam, Google Stadia, and the Nintendo Switch.

You can watch the full release date trailer on publisher Curve Games’ official YouTube channel here:

In From Space, aliens have invaded, and players must band together to help a human resistance survive in the post-apocalyptic world. But it also has a family friendly design and story, with a heavy emphasis on cooperative gameplay that supports up to four players. However, it can also be played solo.

Developed by Triangle Studios, their official site notes that From Space is a spiritual sequel to It came from space and ate our brains, a very similar top-down shooter that released in 2015. Both games have a very enjoyable, arcade-style look that was surely easier to produce, and will also please fans of retro gaming.

Players can improve skills, use a variety of “over-the-top” weapons, gain perks over time, and customize your character. There is also “more to come”, suggesting there could be DLC, follow-ups, or at least more big reveals coming soon.

It could be challenging to stand out from the ocean of top-down sci-fi shooters, but it looks like the wacky and breezy tone could provide enough character to earn uncertain fans.

Publisher Curve Games has built a trusted brand with instant classics like Human Fall Flat, and they recently revealed all of the games that they’ll be bringing to Gamescom 2022. Each of them has a distinct personality with clever mechanics, so fans should continue to expect this success to continue.

The release on Nintendo Switch is also a plus, since many games that only launch on PC have a more limited audience. From Space looks like a perfect fit for Nintendo, too.
