How to fish in Dinkum

Dinkum is the newest farming and crafting game on Steam. In this down-under adventure, players can join up with their friends to explore a world based on the Australian outback. While the game may be a relaxing journey, building your town in the bush can be hard if you’re not prepared; If you’re looking to learn how to fish in Dinkum, you’ve found the right guide.

How to fish in Dinkum

Just like in real life, before you can go fishing in Dinkum you’ll have to get a fishing permit. You’ll have to save up permit points from other activities, and then go to Fletch to get your fishing permit. After you get your fishing permit, head over to John to get your fishing pole, which will cost about 1,000 dinks.

Once you have your permit and fishing rod, you’re ready to start fishing. Head to one of the many rivers in the outback, and peer over the edge until you find a fish. It might take you some time to actually find a fish in the river, but once you do, the catching process is relatively simple.

To fish, equip your fishing rod and hold down the left mouse button to charge up your toss. The longer you hold the button down, the further your cast will go. You want to make sure you don’t toss the lure too far away from the fish in order to catch them.

Once your lure is close enough, fish will start to nibble on the hook. Once they take a bite, the struggle begins — You want to reel the fish in when they aren’t swimming away. If you try to reel while they tug on your line, you run the risk of snapping the line and losing your fish.

That’s all you need to know about fishing in Dinkum! If you liked this guide and want to see more, leave a comment below and check out our other game guides.
