LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga teases Andor DLC and more

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will officially bring in 30 new characters from Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Book of Boba Fett, Star Wars Rebels, and even LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation. These characters are being introduced for the “Galactic Edition”, which is scheduled to launch next week on November 1st, 2022. Here’s the big announcement from Xbox:

One of the main concerns that Skywalker Saga fans immediately had was disparate purchasing, especially for those who already own the game. Fortunately, the new character sets won’t just be exclusive to the “Galactic Edition” release.

All six of the new character packs will be available in a separate Character Collection 2, and they can even be purchased individually. This is a big relief for players who own all of the previous DLC, as well as fans who may not actually enjoy all of the shows. Even Obi-Wan Kenobi was pretty divisive.

The nod to the Summer Vacation special is a welcome surprise, since there were some very amusing appearances there, especially for the villains. It’s also appreciated that this connects even more of the LEGO universe, since those small specials aren’t quite as massive or critically praised.

Andor, meanwhile, has been a remarkable shift in direction for Star Wars, but it successfully continues the tone of Rogue One in every way. It’s a somber slow-burn with great payoffs, grounded performances, and all of the convoluted bureaucracy that made Imperial characters so interesting in the original trilogy. While the show deals with more mature themes, which conflict with LEGO, it’ll still be a joy to see in-game.

It’s important to note that the new character packs will roll out gradually throughout November, being the 1st, the 15th, and the 29th. Double-check the official post to find when each pack releases and complete details.
