Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the satisfying sequel to PlayStation’s original Spider-Man blockbuster, has just released a new trailer for the PC launch. The Miles Morales title is expected to launch sometime in Fall 2022, though no release date has been confirmed. You can watch the full teaser on PlayStation’s YouTube channel here:
Nixxes Software is credited for the PC version of Miles Morales, a successful Dutch studio that Sony Interactive Entertainment acquired back in 2021 for their “technical and development capabilities”. Fans have praised the speed of the port release, which would generally take much longer, especially for titles of this magnitude.
It seems that Nixxes’ specialty in porting is already paying off, and it’s a clear hint that PlayStation has a long-term plan for re-releasing as many of their popular exclusives as possible. That led a lot of fans to speculate on the various titles they’re hoping for.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered earned a lot of hype for its various improvements, including some very stunning ray tracing and other quality-of-life changes for the PC version.
The remaster wowed audiences when it released just last month, so PC owners are likely ecstatic about completing Miles’ follow-up story on the same platform. Both games received nearly unanimous praise from critics and fans alike for their heart, humor, mechanics and visuals. They really defined what a AAA title can muster, when technology reinforces a clear and successful vision.
Miles Morales is sure to retain its buzz, thanks to a highly anticipated crossover with Fortnite that will feature Spider-Gwen. But fans are pretty disappointed that a release date still isn’t concrete. It’s the first day of Autumn, so there isn’t much time left to market the Miles Morales port, and it could suggest some kind of uncertainty.
