New coin chest Pokémon, Gimmighoul, introduced for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Nintendo has revealed a new Coin Chest Pokémon set to be featured in the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet as well as in Pokémon Go!

Recently, a new addition to the massive Pokémon roster has been announced. The newest Pokémon, Gimmighoul, has the appearance of a treasure chest and lurks throughout the Paldea region, waiting for Trainers to discover it. It is a Ghost-Type Pokémon with a Rattle ability. Gimmighoul camouflages itself inside a treasure chest and walks very slowly while doing so. Because of the treasure chest’s weight, Gimmighoul moves more slowly than usual, which makes traveling more challenging. However, the treasure chest does provide it with reliable protection.

According to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet website, Gimmighoul is also capable of controlling humans and Pokémon. When it sees that a human or Pokémon is approaching, it springs an ambush on them. After that, it uses ghost energy to exert control over its target and compels them to collect coins. Since a Gimmighoul often hides in places that people and Pokémon do not visit, such as warehouses and store corners, it tends to maintain a consistent level of control over those it does manage to come into contact with.

Furthermore, Gimmighoul has a second form called Roaming Form Gimmighoul. This kind of Gimmighoul does not conceal itself inside a treasure chest. As such, It is small in size, carries a single coin on its back, and can be found hiding all over Paldea. However, it seems that not a single Trainer in Paldea has ever been successful in catching one of these Pokémons since they flee as soon as a human comes close to them.

The Roaming Form Gimmighoul has also been discovered in the world of Pokémon GO. It has been previously confirmed that Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will link with Pokémon GO. By linking these games, players will have the opportunity to get Gimmighoul in his Roaming Form in Pokémon GO. This feature is scheduled for release in 2023, so make sure to visit the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet website for future announcements.
