Pokémon Go will feature Shiny Clefairy in Harvest Moon event

Pokémon Go has announced a Harvest Moon celebration that will feature a short boost of Clefairy activity on September 10th. Only lasting between 6 PM and 9 PM local time, fans will have a chance to see plenty of Clefairy, as well as a Shiny version. Here’s the official tweet for the seasonal event:

Unfortunately, there’s no word on any kind of increase in shiny activity, so fans shouldn’t expect to see the rare appearance any more than usual. However, with so much Clefairy spawning, the likelihood could naturally improve.

The Harvest Moon is conceptually fun, a nice little nod to the day and night cycle from Gold and Silver. Also, Clefairy was always one of the first, truly mysterious Pokémon, showing up in Mt. Moon of the original generation games.

So, although the Harvest Moon event may not be quite as exciting as some of the big reveals for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Clefairy remains a fan favorite and is worth checking out. It’s just a bit frustrating that the window is so short, but at least the announcement has given fans enough time to prepare, which isn’t always the case.

Also, the Clefairy theme also fits with Pokémon Go’s ongoing marketing campaign for the new Season of Light, which just began yesterday as the fall season approaches:

The devs also just added some brand-new Partner Research for Verizon customers, which didn’t please too many. It’s only eligible for fans in the United States, and Verizon users at that. It’s a shame, since many were looking forward to encountering Gengar, the classic Ghost-type who keeps showing up in every iteration of Pokémon. Here’s the Partner Research tweet for more details:
