PS Plus reveals Dead by Daylight and more for August 2022 Lineup

PlayStation has officially announced 12 more titles that’ll be added to the game lineup this month, including multiple games from the Yakuza series, Dead by Daylight, Bugsnax, Trials of Mana and more.

Here’s the tweet from PlayStation’s feed, which includes a promo image of half the new titles:

PlayStation has already made a big push for the Yakuza series when they announced the monthly titles in June. Subscribers got access to Yakuza: Like A Dragon on the 2nd, but now it’s official that Extra and Premium members will get to play Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 on August 16th.

No release date has been confirmed for Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5 Remastered and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, but they’re expected sometime this year. These will likely roll out with each subsequent month.

The other big titles include Dead by Daylight, which recently announced a massive Resident Evil crossover with a host of new cosmetics and datamined perks.

Then there’s Bugsnax, a strange indie game where players must find, hunt and capture half-bug and half-snack creatures on Snaktooth Island. As a result, this odd little title has earned a reputation as “psychological horror” for some.

Another addition, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, is basically more of the same for its genre and franchise, executed well but hardly revolutionary. The co-op experience is definitely worth a look.

Metro Exodus, Trials of Mana, Everspace, UNO, Monopoly Madness and Monopoly Plus are also joining the lineup. Fans of board games should enjoy the last three, although Monopoly Plus is infamous for its bugs, and those can be devastating for a game that lasts as long as Monopoly.

Most of these are somewhat obscure titles, but almost all of the PS Plus games have their age in common. Titles that have been around for either a couple of years, or a full decade, seem to be the ongoing trend. With so many day-one releases on Xbox’s Game Pass, PlayStation will need to ramp up its titles for subscribers to stick around.
