When it was initially released on PlayStation 2, the original Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- was regarded as the peak of the series, owing to its inclusion of the many SaGa series trademarks such as the Glimmer and Combo mechanics. Now, Square Enix will finally bring the SaGa to several modern platforms in a remastered version.

On December 1st, 2022, Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Steam, iOS, and Android. Recently, Square Enix announced that Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered is now available to pre-order on Switch, Steam, iOS and Android. A free wallpaper on Steam will also be given to those who pre-order now for PC.

The free scenario system that allows players to craft their own narrative is carried over into The Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered and serves as the core element of the game. Likewise, it brings together eight unique characters for a new journey consisting of lengthy conflicts and difficult decisions. The protagonist, as well as the goals, party members, and starting point of the tale, are all determined by the player’s choice of character.

The story of The Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered is set in a world where the gods created man and man created stories. The primordial being known as Marda was responsible for the creation of the land known as Mardias. This region was shaken to its foundations by a terrible conflict many years ago. A thousand years have gone since that titanic battle. The Fatestones have been dispersed all across the planet, and the gods of evil have emerged from their slumber once again. The eight heroes each embarked on their separate adventures, seemingly obedient to the guiding hand of fate.

The Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered edition will feature upgraded HD graphics as well as a variety of other enhancements for an improved gameplay experience, making it highly recommended for both fans of the original and new to the SaGa series.
