Sackboy: A Big Adventure released as far back as November 2020, but it’s just announced even more of its adorable costumes. On July 22nd, players will be able to get their hands on both T-Rex and Triceratops cosmetics.
Here’s the official tweet from PlayStation’s feed, which shows off both of the new prehistoric costumes:
Fans of PlayStation and the enjoyable game were both amused and annoyed when the announcement was strangely posted three times, today. Each tweet included the exact same marketing phrase and image.
Somehow, the actual date wasn’t concrete or sensible until the latest post. The first two tweets stated that the new cosmetics would release in June, which would suggest an advertisement for next year.
Human error is totally understandable, but three identical updates is pretty odd. And it basically made a big deal out of nothing. The final post was mostly greeted with mocking instead of enthusiasm, which is really a shame, since the game is still plenty of fun.
And its new dinosaur costumes are actually well-designed, with the same tactile charm that makes its cosmetics so addicting. It seems to be an intentional joke that the triceratops is considered the T-Rex’s buddy instead of its lunch.
Either way, both of these dinosaurs were featured in the original Jurassic Park, so the update seems to be capitalizing on the home release of Jurassic World: Dominion.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a creative little platformer that resembles Yoshi’s Crafted World and Unravel, but it’s actually a spinoff from the LittleBigPlanet series. The mechanics and multiplayer are smooth, and fans continue to hope for some new content that isn’t a simple costume or two.
