Valheim has just released the patch 0.211.11 for the Public Tesh branch.
Valheim is an exploration and survival game for one to ten players, developed by the Swedish studio Iron Gate Studio and published by Coffee Stain Studios. It was made available for Linux and Windows through Steam in early access on February 2, 2021, and is scheduled for release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2023. Since its early access release, Valheim has been regarded as a “rare exception” of a sophisticated early access game. It was one of the most-played games on Steam a month after its debut, having sold over five million copies.
The name “Valheim” refers to a mythical tenth planet inside the Norse mythological world tree Yggdrasil. As such, the game is set in a world where Vikings who have died must show their worthiness for Valhalla. As such, the player starts with nothing and quickly learns that to enter the Norse afterlife, they must vanquish the horrors that plague Valheim. The player must prepare to battle the sworn foes of Odin himself, using only their intuition and occasional tips from a raven.
In the previous patch 0.211.9, Valheim performed another round of crossplay problem fixes. This patch also includes several PlayFab backend modifications. Meanwhile, the majority of these updates focus on resolving connection difficulties and sending/receiving restrictions in multiplayer.
Recently, Valheim issued a patch notice for the latest Public Test branch 0.211.11 update. This is done to ensure the chance to find bugs and improve the game’s balance, offering the best possible gaming experience. The bug fixes made for Patch 0.211.11 are as follows:
- Fixed a Linux-specific bug that deleted characters/worlds when moving them back and forth between Local and Cloud
- Prevent joining servers from the main menu if incompatible server versions right away (instead of loading and then kicking you back out)
- More PlayFab tweaks
As a way for Valheim to get into the spirit of the Halloween season, the Jack-o’-turnip seasonal decoration item has also been activated. These upgrades are still in the Public Test Branch of the Valheim development, and may therefore be unstable. Nonetheless, Valheim is planning to roll out the update to the default version very soon.
