Overwatch 2 has prepared a variety of exciting new content just in time for the start of the Winter Wonderland festivities. Special arcade game modes, such as “Freezethaw Elimination,” “Yeti Hunter,” “Snowball Deathmatch,” and “Mei’s Snowball Offensive,” will be available for players to participate in starting today and running until January 4th. Completing wintery challenges alongside these limited-time modes will grant players weapon charms, player icons, sprays, and more, including the Ice Queen Epic Brigitte skin.
This year’s Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland will include a number of arcade modes that are as chilly as the snow outside. Beginning with Mei’s Snowball Offensive, Mei will no longer fire a stream of frost or icicles but will instead fire snowballs to instantly knock out her opponents in a 6v6 Elimination or an 8-player Free-for-All Deathmatch ruleset.
Next comes Mei’s Yeti Hunt, a unique 5v1 raid-boss brawl. There is a Yeti that is stealing food from the nearby hamlet, and it is up to the five Mei players on the squad to create traps and freeze the Yeti that is on the loose. If he gets away with stealing too much meat, he will go on a meat-stealing rampage and be able to easily destroy the opposing team.
Finally, Freezethaw Elimination is Overwatch 2’s take on the classic game of freeze tag. In this mode, players must freeze all opponents by eliminating them while thawing allies to bring them back into the game.
Meanwhile, be sure to check into drops-enabled channels on Twitch in the Overwatch 2 category from December 25th through January 4th to get festive D.Va cosmetics. Watch for two hours to acquire the Festive D.Va Victory Pose, then for four hours more to obtain the Sleighing D.Va legendary skin. Overwatch 2 will also be offering a Festive Wreath weapon charm and the 2023 player icon as players log into the game from December 20th to January 4th.
